Benitez will not be sacked from Liverpool FC – period. If the American owners wanted to sack him then why would they have offered him improved control over club transfers, the academy, new backroom staff and of course the demise of Rick Parry. The truth is that the owners are desperate to sell and Rafa has been 'gagged' to stop him talking to the press/media. George Gillett Jr has had numerous advanced talks with two interested parties – the F6 group from Saudi and of course the old suitors, DIC. Gillett is trying to get the best deal for himself which is why the sale of his share has been prolonged. Tom Hicks wants to relinquish some of his share in the club but still have an active involvement, DIC want full control.
