Porto’s Bruno Alves:We have to negateCesc Fabregas
Porto are already thinking
about next Wednesday ’s game
against Arsenal and one of their
plans is to make sure not to
give any space to captain Cesc
Fabregas.
Speaking to the News of the
World, midfielder Bruno Alves
was full of praise for the
Spaniard, declaring how he
stands out for his quality,
reason why he should be given
no room to dictate his game.
Alves said:
It’s Cesc Fabregas who stands
out for his quality, his attacking
play, the way he imposes his
tempo.
He is, without doubt, Arsenal’s
most valuable player. So we
have to negate him.

Arsenal coughing up£16M for free transfer Chamakh
Arsenal are shelling out £16
million for their 'free' transfer
Marouane Chamakh.
The Sunday Express says
Arsenal have beaten Liverpool in
the battle for Bordeaux striker
Chamakh – but the 'free'
transfer will cost the Gunners
at least £16million.
Chamakh, 26, is set to sign in
the summer and will get
£2.5million a year.
That will be topped up by a
further £1m-a-season signing-
on fee for four seasons, plus
add-ons.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger
made a deadline day bid for
Everton striker Louis Saha, it
has been revealed.
The People says while the
Gunners boss has been widely
criticised for failing to bolster
his squad in the January
transfer window, People Sport
can reveal that the Frenchman
was busting a gut to capture
Everton striker Saha.
Wenger is a long-term admirer
of his fellow countryman and
admits he looked into signing
the forward as a youngster,
before he joined Fulham in 2000.
The deal to sign Saha, 31, was
said to have been close to
completion two weeks ago but
the player backed out.
He has since agreed a new
two-year deal with Everton,
with terms believed to be
preferable to those on offer at
the Emirates - where Wenger
has always been reluctant to
recommend long-term contracts
to players over 30.
